Fr. Joel Turmo | Rector
Fr. Joel Turmo has served as the Rector of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church since 2012. His ministry is characterized by a deep love of fostering spiritual growth and creating a caring community. Fr. Joel is particularly passionate about nurturing the faith of young people and guiding Christian formation for all ages. In addition to his role at St. Timothy’s, Fr. Joel serves the Diocese of the Great Lakes as the Youth Missioner for the Southern Region, supporting congregations in their youth ministry efforts and leading diocesan youth events such as retreats, statewide virtual confirmation classes and an annual mission trip. Fr. Joel holds an M. Div. from Sewanee School of Theology and a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from Western Michigan University. He and his wife Katy are the proud parents of four children. Fr. Joel is committed to guiding St. Timothy’s on its faith journey, with open hearts and a welcoming spirit for all.

Julian is an extremely talented and accomplished Colombian pianist and pedagogue who is currently pursuing a Master's in Piano Performance with Lori Sims at Western Michigan University. He holds a Bachelor's in Piano Performance and a Master's in Interpretation and Pedagogy under the guidance of Professor Mac McClure at the National University of Colombia. He is an advocate for Latin American and Hispanic music, regularly incorporating works from these regions into his repertoire and using them as pedagogical tools with his students. Julian joined the staff of St. Timothy's in 2024 and has been an amazing addition to our music department.

Cathy joined the staff at St. Timothy's in 2022. She manages the parish office, and provides support to both the clergy and congregation of the church. She graduated from Rhema Bible College in 2013 specializing in Support Ministry. She lives with her husband, Tim, and is a proud mother of two amazing daughters.
